The Death of Traditional Developers By Citizen Developers Has Been Greatly Exaggerated
A world filled by junior developers will be a gigantic mess

The Low Code Infinity Gauntlet Might Won’t Save Software Development as Advertised
The Rumours of the Death of Agile Have Been Greatly Exaggerated and the death of developers who write code is nonsense. There is a greater demand for experienced software developers than ever and citizen developers will need experienced developers to lead them.
Low code software development will target small simple business applications, which are a perfect choice to knock out quickly. Low code will attempt more complex software and fail, partly because of technical limitations and the inexperience of citizen developers.
Citizen developers are junior developers and junior developers need guidance from senior developers
Citizen developers are still developers and development is still hard
Citizen developers have been empowered to save the world (or at least IT budgets) by writing millions of low-code application super fast and paying less for low code developer.
The sales pitch behind low-code development tools is upon picking up the low code infinity gauntlet, power users will be transformed into 10X hero developers.
A similar belief is held by many amateur weekend sports people that when you pick up the same brand golf club, tennis racket or football boots of their sporting hero’s they will be transformed into living legends of the sport (but without all the tedious practice).
Does the power of software development come from the tool or the person using the tool?
Is the mostly costly part of software development in the creation or the maintenance?
Low-code tools might create software quickly, but how easy will it be to maintain hundreds of low-code applications?
