Interesting analysis and summary, I enjoyed reading it

Thinking must go beyond the initial problem and go deeper into the needs of users and look at the whole system.

Most people tackle problems by looking at the simple problem but you need to understand whole systems, the drivers, emotions, feedback loops, incentives.

Fixing the symptoms, instead of the root cause, merely shifts the problem from one area to another. The second order effects need to be looked at, which once again leads to analysis of the whole system.

The article highlights the need to look at problems from different perspectives to get a fuller picture of the problem before you start thinking about a solution.
