The best morale exist when you never hear the word mentioned. When you hear a lot of talk about it, it’s usually lousy. Dwight D. Eisenhower

Software development is difficult, it's why companies pay developers good money to create software. It’s not just technical skills developers need, they need to keep cool when things are going wrong and the project is falling behind.

Software development is a test of mind, body, technical skills and spirt.

How do developers keep morale up in difficult times?

The spirt of Man Utd

I watched the series 99 on Amazon prime. It's the story of Man Utd winning the treble and focuses on the 10-day period of Man Utd’s last matches to win the premier league, FA cup and Champions league.

The Man Utd training ground the cliff was a sanctuary for the players, manager and coaching staff. Alex Ferguson created a siege mentally. It was them agaisn’t everyone else and he regularly used criticism from outside sources to motivate the team (we will show them attitude).
